Uguisu No Fun Review - Japanese Nightingale Feces as Celebrity Secret (Uguisushop.com)

Uguisu No Fun or commonly known as Geisha Facial in the U.S and Europe (Bird Poop Facial in some countries) is a unique form of facial mask made from the feces of a bird known as Japanese Bush Warbler endemic to Japan. It has been used since the ancient times as a nightly facial regimen of Japanese women of the elite class. It is now quite popular among the Hollywood elites due to its resounding world wide acclaim by regular users and beauty gurus alike.

Victoria Beckham, who has long suffered with acne, used uguisu no fun to improve her skin. It was reported that Victoria Beckham admired the clarity of the skin of Japanese women and subsequently learned about the droppings. David Beckham has been said to use the product as well. In the novel Memoirs of a Geisha, Chiyo repays Hatsumomo’s cruelty by mixing pigeon droppings with her face cream that contained unguent of nightingale droppings. Tom Cruise and Oprah are also known to use Uguisu Poo Uguisu No Fun Illuminating Mask every night as their consistent anti ageing and beauty regimen.

The way the facial works is not entirely clear. The guano from the nightingale has a high concentration of urea and guanine. Because birds excrete a fecal and urine waste from a single opening, called the cloaca, the fecal-urine combination give the droppings a high concentration of urea. Urea is sometimes found in cosmetics because it locks moisture into the skin. The guanine may produce shimmery, iridescent effects on the skin. It is claimed that because of the short intestine of the nightingale, the droppings have protein, a fat-degrading enzyme, and a whitening enzyme that acts on fat and scurf to whiten skin and even out blemishes. Numerous sources comment that "the amino acid guanine" gives uguisu no fun its cosmetic properties, though guanine is a nucleotide base, not an amino acid.

PERSONAL VERDICT

1. Does it work?
- 400 years of continuous hyped means that it does. After trying the product myself, I see the effect in just one bottle (6 sessions)

2. Cost?
- Its about 100 to 300 usd per session but you can buy uguisu no fun online one bottle of mask around 30 grams can give you about 6 facial sessions and it is worth 23 usd only.

3. Conclusion
- If you have a budget for a weekly or daily mask routine, this one is for you. The effect is consistent and indeed, miraculous. Makes the skin even and perfectly smooth and glowing. You will really look amazing after just a few session.

cocogirl-poster
I have a big article planned on the birth of Shop Staff Units but I’ll let this one be the prequel. Cocolulu which is a hit with high school girls for the last 10 years has taken it a step further and made a dance/idol unit called COCO★GIRL. The idol unit is comprised of 3 models, 1 each from Popteen, Ranzuki and Egg.

New Pocky from Glico!

Pocky new products from Glico!

Image from Glico.

It seems that, for summer, Glico has finally come around to my way of thinking. Part of their marketing for the "rare cheesecake" Pocky includes the idea that it tastes great chilled. As attentive readers with good memories may recall, the only way I really like Pocky is cold.

"Rare cheesecake" in Japan means the type with is creamy and closer to cream cheese than "cake". It's a version of New York cheesecake without the intense heft. At any of the dainty little cake shops in Japan, you can choose between "rare" and baked. One is usually white or off-white and the other is closer to yellow or tan. I'm guessing that these will have a pretty nice flavor which is slightly tangy and not the usual "cheese" flavor in Japan. That is, it won't taste like cheddar or Gouda or some other pungent cheese mixed with sugar.

Besides this summer offering, and this is being advertised as a limited edition summer flavor, Glico is positioning the coconut Pocky and a "tropical" flavor which is mango and pineapple. The coconut flavor has been around for ages, but I guess pairing it with the tropical flavor helps conjure up images of beaches and cool blue oceans. I'm not bothering to include an image, but the coconut box has an image of a blue ocean to counterbalance the hot-looking sunset on the mango and pineapple box.

If I run across it, I may indeed pop for the cheesecake version because I'm a sucker for "rare cheesecake" flavors, but I'll probably pass on the tropical flavors. If my readers try these out, let me know how they are and if they took you out of your daily grind and filled your head with images of relaxing beaches while on summer vacation or just made you think about chocolate-coated pretzel sticks.

Spring 2012 Collection

Before I go and discuss a lot of misses in gyaru fashion this season. Let me say I am perfectly aware of my own questionable choices. Most recently I have bought shoes with spikes on them and sneakers covered in fur with tails on them. I could also be thrown to the lions for fashion I like as well. But hey I like them and that’s what matters  :korila:
This is all meant in jest. If you like some of the items I posted that’s great! I think one of the most awesome aspects of gyaru fashion is that there is something for so many fashion tastes.

When Denim Mates

Backs. Oh Backs. Finally Gyaru and Bass Pro Shops can combine to form something fashionable yet hunting chic. Whenever you need to shoot a gator on Swamp People you can still be gyaru. Win WIN!
You may be thinking to yourself after you’ve detracted eyes away from awkward denim pockets everywhere, that the shirt is too short. FEAR NOT! It’s a skort, with camo print shorts underneath. DIGNITY SAFE!
Chimera pants!
Blue Moon Blue has decided on 3 color reverse chaps for jeans and pockets so low they almost touch the knee. Blue Moon Blue does itself a positive though. While advertising the name of their brand they make sure to keep everyone aware of their crimes against denimkind.
Two for One sale!
Tralala combines all the love of denim with the appeal of sweat pants. It’s great when your shirt reaches the top of the jeans so you can make sure everyone knows when you bend down you might be ass out. BUT NO sweat pants save you.

Against AGAINST

Fashionwalker decided to put the brand “Against” in their Shibuya Style Village category. I see 0 gal in this, but maybe I’m too blinded by the beauty.
Pleated palazzo pants that are striped. You can see the model does the hand on head pose synonymous with “WHAT THE FUCK WERE THEY THINKING?!?”
A bum bag with a scrap left over from a plaid skirt. It’s the most awkward looking ass stuffing accessory known to man. ….winning?
Pleats on a hoodie with small print for the pregnant gal. And a skirt eaten by badgers.
Against you give me so many reasons to be against.

MeJane’s Permanent WWTT Spot

Me Jane you used to be so fabulous (check out Charlotte’s old post on them). Classy agejo gals went to you for the light pink and expensive coats. Now you’re this?
Khaki and Hawaiian print? Pleats on a shirt that make her small bust look awkward?
MeJane also went into remake hell lately with this jagged skirt.
Both are from the same season. MeJane make up your ugly mind!

Vence was too soon

Newly released Whitney Houston t-shirts. Ouch. Nothing says fashion like making a profit off a recently dead icon.

Grab bag of Hell

Goa has this awesome Mad Max desert survival theme that’s kickass. But then they break out this bag that’s a target for the ugly arrow. I can’t even tell which culture they stole this from because it looks like all of them.

Ank Rouge fell into a print factory

Ank Rouge. Really. You put out not one but two corset blouses. The first one has elastic across the back for that classier feel. Nothing says slimming corset like a tight white shirt ready to show all your flaws.
Then you go and do this pumpkin pant monstrosity. If you have the body to pull off that small waist you will really want to add some size to your hips with the pouf style and scarf print that says I CAN’T DECIDE SO I USED 4 PATTERNS!
Combine the top and bottoms and …. “she blinded me with fuggggly” :music:

Silence of the Shoes

Oh Titty & Co. The model didn’t zip these up because she was scared of being haunted by the human skin she was wearing.
Again this was all done in jest. If we can’t keep fashion fun and funny, then it’d be a very boring world

Sana Pore Putyy BB Review

This cosmetic goes by either Sana Pore Putty BB Pact or Keana Pate Shokunin 毛穴パテ職人 ( Artistian Pore Puttywebsite). It’s a line of BB Creams and Compacts (BB Pact) also Face Powders by Japanese Cosmetic Company Sana. BB Pacts are a new BB cream type. They tend to have heavier coverage than traditional tube BB creams and this is the first Japanese brand doing a BB Pact.
Sana’s Keana Pate Shokunin entire line
I find got interested in Pore Putty because it was #1 at Ranking Queen in Shinjuku which shows the ranks of all cosmetics. The name stuck with me and knowing it was popular made me curious. Read on to see what it does and why I love it and why you may love it too.

Description

Sana Pore Putty BB Pace is a Japanese BB cream compact for ladies with visible pores.
The Japaness BB cream compact has the function of a : beauty serum, sunscreen, makeup base, foundaton, concealer, and press powder, while concealing visible pores.

via imomoko

My own product. According to the website 81% of people who tried it said they’d buy it again. Pretty high

When you open it up there’s the creamy BB pact along with a mirror.

And it has a second layer on top to keep the sponge applicator off the cream. Nice, right?

I’m just going to tell you right now I think Sana Pore Putty is the best make-up product I bought in Japan this trip.

To show an example of why. Here’s my face larger than actual size and you’re a bit too close to call us just friends. So I’m zoomed in on my pores.
I’m in Jewerich #7 uppers, Jewerich #2 lowers and Brigitte Eyeshadow set (to review soon), Princess Mimi Apple Green from PinkyParadise  use code “universaldoll” for a free gift.
No leveling, no use of Photoshop other than to resize. Taken with my iPhone.
Can you still see my pores? A little, but the coloration, and overall tone of my skin is so much better!

Pros of Sana Pore Putty BB Pact:

Excellent coverage! I’m very self-conscious about my acne scars and putty diminished the look of them. It didn’t remove them completely, but definitely put them in the background of my face.
Quick to apply! A few swipes and I’m done. Doesn’t streak much so swipe your face, check edges and corners and you’re done.
Skintone matching! I have no idea how it does it, but as dark as it looks in the pot it’s definitely good for a range of skintones.
Long lasting! When I use a make-up remover wipe, Clarsonic brush, and I still get residue when I use my final toner remover I know this stuff has staying power.
Creamy! Rainy season kept my skin moist in Japan, but coming back to the States it didn’t rain for a week, so my hands got dry but my face didn’t.
Cost Under $20 beats the products I was using.

Cons of Sana Pore Putty BB Pact:  :sage:

Because it’s creamy it’s very shiny. The Sana Pore Putty powders are made to compliment this, but it’s not too shiny to wear alone.
Hard to remove, but that’s because it’s so long lasting. It’s the con of any long lasting foundation however.

In the end I like this product because it’s a great price and it gives me skin confidence when I don’t usually have it. I also like that when I have leave the house in 5 minutes this plus eyeliner & mascara makes me feel like a human. I was using MAC Studio Fluid FX ($27) or MAC Moisture Tint ($30) and they are not easily portable and Studio Fluid felt to heavy for summer and Moisture Tint too light. Like Goldilocks, I found Sana Pore Putty just right and completely worth the price!
